Dream # 41

nightime - i am working at an airport in arizona, servicing cargo jets - it's dark inside the plane - i watch another jet taking off, then a second which aborts its take-off and then taxis to a hangar. i have a co-worker and there are two men in the cockpit of my plane - i don't know them - latino woman - judy - kelli - somehow in dream - co-worker leaves, he is going on his break - feeling wistful and reflective - at the end of the runway are two mountains, with the moon shining between the two peaks - i exit down the stairs at the back of the plane, take out cell phone, i feel the need to call judy

giant two panel painting - black panels with a single white stripe down the center of each - using a roller to paint this - long stick so i can reach - deb and suzanne are there - then i am in a garden, by an old house - patti smith helps me measure the side of the house - "where should i put this?" - she says "the middle" but i make the wrong choice as to what the "middle" is

i am late - photographers taking shots - hilly waterfront park, sunny day - in cambridge, mass? - historic brick buildings - old town square - crowd of people wandering around - tourists? - recurring dream theme of civic center area of san francisco - there is a half-way house or rehab facility - men filing out - i am interested in purchasing it - then a flood comes - water about ankle high - very warm - i move to higher ground - tourists are still there - i am passing through a crowd as one group are taking photos of each other - i bump into one camera - photographer and i each say "sorry" - i am headed to a ticket booth so i can buy a bus ticket - running late, i am trying to leave - still moving uphill - a woman gives me a bus transfer, i go back down the hill, hoping to catch the bus - it's a long ways down - i can't figure out where the bus station actually is - i pass behind a row of the brick buildings i mentioned - many have old, faded advertisments painted on the walls - i miss my bus, then i head to a dock to catch a ferry, i am not too late for that - there are people in line, looking down at the water, waiting for the ferry to arrive
